Me, Cyborg: What are the implications of "upgrading ourselves" to version 2.0?

We do things to enhance ourselves everyday. We drink coffee both because we like the taste but also because it keeps us alert. What if that “boost” was made permanent? Our patients wear prostheses to help them walk. What if (take the present case of Oscar Pistorius) those devices bordered on “superhuman”?
