SALSA’s Armstrong Named University of Arizona Distinguished Outreach Professor @UAMedTucson

David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at the University of Arizona was named University Distinguished Outreach Professor. The announcement from University of Arizona Provost Andrew Comrie’s office cited Armstrong’s numerous and major accomplishments during his tenure at the University. The committee took note of [Armstrong’s] exceptionally productive research program, award-winning interventions and therapies, and innovative uses of technology. [They also] praised [his] mentoring of clinical trainees as well as engagements with Industry and Native American Communities.”  
Armstrong, who was the first full-time podiatric surgeon to be appointed as medical school faculty nine years ago, has published over 460 peer-reviewed manuscripts and more than 80 book chapters in addition to mentoring hundreds of students, physicians, surgeons, and scientists from dozens of nations worldwide.
