Physicians, surgeons and nurses from throughout the Middle East and North Africa attended a hands-on training program at Sharjah University in the United Arab Emirates yesterday. The course, which was scheduled to precede the 3rd International Diabetic Foot Conference, held in the neighboring emirate of Dubai. “The aim of this program was to give hands on surgical and technical training to surgeons, physicians and nurses to immediately impact their practices” noted David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery, Director of the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) and featured speaker at this event. “I’m grateful to Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni for his leadership in putting this program together. It is a great start to what I’m sure will turn into a regular event in the region.”
