The answer to the question, above is: yes. We thank our colleagues @aobiome for spotting this manuscript in WRR from Holmes and coworkers from Loyola University, Chicago.

We are finding, slowly but surely, that it takes a village to build a healthy microbiome. Perhaps the balance we have to strike is not to oversimplify while also not throwing up our hands in frustration at the enormous complexity in these communities. Here’s to good works in this area, step by step.
