UK and US Clinican-Scientists Allton, Armstrong and Najafi Team Up to Make Algeria “Undefeeted”

Peter Allton, London podiatrist and author of the book “Undefeeted” teamed with David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance and Bijan Najafi, Professor of Surgery and Director of Baylor College of Medicine’s interdisciplinary Consortium for Advanced Motion Performance (iCAMP) to provide keynote lectures at the first Algerian Conference on the Diabetic Foot. “This was both a challenge and, thanks to the organizers of the symposium, a triumph” noted Armstrong. Armstrong and Najafi were unable to attend because of last minute visa complications, causing frantic setup of video links from Florence, Italy (where Armstrong was chairing sessions at the World Union of Wound Healing Societies) and Houston (home of Baylor’s Najafi). “To see everything come together as it did and the difference being made by doctors, nurses and their patients is simply inspiring. Here’s to them and here’s to fighting this problem.”
