David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at University of Southern California (USC) was unanimously appointed to the Board of Directors to the Rancho Research Institute (RRI). The RRI is a world-renowned program at the National Rehabilitation Center at Rancho Los Amigos in Los Angeles dedicated to conducting innovative research to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. “The RRI and Rancho have been leaders in stroke, spinal cord, and amputee research for generations”, noted Dr. Phil Requejo, CEO of the RRI, “Our key initiative is to add limb preservation to that list and we can’t think of anyone more qualified to help us along that way than Dr. Armstrong.” Armstrong’s tenure begins in December and will include oversight and guidance on research and development, technology launch, and clinical/community education.
