Providing Preventive Foot Care Can Save the Nation Billions: CA Podiatrist

At Care Harbor, a free 4-day clinic, Podiatrist Dr. Franklin Kase has diagnosed new patients with diabetes and high blood pressure with one check of the feet. “A lot of these people, interestingly enough have jobs, but don’t have the health insurance to access medical care,” says Kase.

Dr. Kase says that this preventive care helps all of us because if there are no treatments of diseases such as diabetes, these patients wind up in emergency rooms, which costs the nation between one and two billion dollars a year.
