Armstrong Gives Rounds and Visiting Professor Lecture at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital

David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the University of Arizona’s Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA), became the first podiatric surgeon to be invited as Visiting Professor to Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Service. “It was an honor to join my long-time friend, Prof. Elof Eriksson and his wonderful team at the Brigham.” noted Armstrong. “It is doubly wonderful to be here to pay homage to Elof’s immediate predecessor and friend, Joe Murray, who won the Nobel Prize for his work in transplantation. There is so much innovation and greatness here, one can’t help but be inspired.” Armstrong spoke on his life’s work in wound healing and amputation prevention, noting that “Tending to the feet is not only an expression of respect and humility, but it’s worth a life’s work.”
