Armstrong Keynotes Korean Wound Management Society

David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the University of Arizona’s Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) provided the keynote talk for the Korean Wound Management Society’s annual Scientific Symposium at the renowned Severance Hospital at Yonsei University in Seoul. His talk, which detailed the global rise of non-communicable diseases and diabetes and foot complications specifically, also reviewed strategies for prevention. “Some may consider this a terrible time to be working in medicine”, noted Armstrong, “While some see it as terrible, I see it as wonderful. The opportunities and the data presented, while concerning, show a clear opportunity for improvement and examples that have worked around the world.”
