AZ Podiatrist Guest Lectures about 3D Printing to Graduate Entrepreneurship Students

Nicholas A. Giovinco, Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Education at the University of Arizona’s Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) became the first ever podiatric physician to participate in the renowned McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. His invited talk, hosted by Professor Marvin Slepian, inventor of the temporary total artificial heart, detailed SALSA’s groundbreaking work in 3D printing in medicine and surgery. “It was an honor to participate in this program”, noted Dr. Giovinco. “ “it’s exciting to share some of the work we are doing at SALSA & iCAMP with young, hungry entrepreneurs. The virtual world and the physical world continue to merge with the help of technology.” The select class in entrepreneurship, ENTR 481/581, is amongst the most popular classes in the college’s history.
