David G. Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Director of The University of Arizona’s Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) became the first US podiatric surgeon to both be appointed as Fellow and serve as keynote speaker to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.  “This honor should certainly not  be directed toward me or even our great team at SALSA, but rather to the Royal College for its forward looking vision toward promoting and fostering better care for people with diabetes, worldwide.” The Keynote address is scheduled for June, 2015 and is timed for the Royal College’s Admission Ceremony. Since Armstrong’s appointment, several other notable non-UK podiatric surgeons have been named to the RCPSG.
