NIH Hosts a Free Online 3D Printable Prosthetics Exchange

It was just a matter of time before things like “Thingiverse” became widespread in medicine and surgery. In a quiet but major development colleagues at NIH have developed an online 3D Print Exchange. Now, you can download a file– like a pdf (or mp3) for a 3D printer if you will– and print it.

We’ve long called for a “napster for medical things“. Thanks to the vision of NIH, that day has come!
