David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California was named to a blue-ribbon panel designed to develop patient-oriented measures in people with peripheral artery disease. The panel, which convened this week outside of Washington, DC, consisted of academics, regulatory officials from FDA, CMS and NIH, industry leaders and, most importantly, people with peripheral artery disease and its complications. The program was organized by Vascular Cures, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and improving care for people with peripheral artery disease. The outcomes of the meeting are planned to be published later in the year.
