David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at Keck Medicine of University of Southern California keynoted the largest ever online gathering of clinicians dedicated to tissue repair and wound healing, worldwide, WoundCon. “The level of enthusiasm– even in the midst of a pandemic– was palpable”, noted Armstrong “It is obvious that we’re all struggling to do the best by our patients. Symposia like this allow us to commiserate, compare notes and improve our care immediately after we log off.” Armstrong presented data using World Health Organization and US Affordable Care Act data showing the impact of coordinated care on amputation prevention to more than 8000 assembled delegates.
