The American College of Surgeons held its annual conference in San Diego hosting surgeons from around the world. Part of the conference included a session on limb preservation featuring lectures by leading surgeons involved in limb preservation in the USA. These included Profs. Vincent Rowe, Tze Woei Tan and David G. Armstrong of the University of Southern California, Dr. Chris Bibbo of the Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopaedics, and Dr. Misty Humphries of UC Davis. The session was chaired by Profs. Woei Zhou of University of Arizona and Dr. Kelly Kempe of Oklahoma University, Tulsa. This is the second time the College has held a symposium on the diabetic foot and limb preservation, the last being in October of 2010 in Washington, DC.
