Armstrong, renowned Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California, and a leading advocate for ending preventable amputation, delivered an insightful virtual lecture today to over 300 healthcare professionals at Mubadala Health in the UAE. The lecture was titled “Strategies to Eliminate Preventable Amputation And Maximize Ulcer-Free Days in People with Diabetes.”

Chaired by Ms. Cassie Purvey, Director of Clinical Services for Mubadala, and Dr. Fatma Ridene, Senior Director, Clinical Development, Mubadala Health, the lecture encompassed comprehensive strategies ranging from policy initiatives to next-generation technologies.

Dr. David G. Armstrong is Professor of Surgery with Tenure at the University of Southern California. He has authored over 650 peer-reviewed research papers and 110 books or book chapters. Dr. Armstrong’s accolades include the 2023 ISDF’s Karel Bakker Award and being the first podiatric surgeon to be named a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow.
