The study from Cardiovascular Diabetology titled “Prediabetes increases the risk of major limb and cardiovascular events” analyzed data from 36,950 patients. It concluded that prediabetes is associated with a 26% higher risk of major adverse limb events (MALE) and a 46% increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), compared to individuals with normal glucose levels. This significant finding underscores the critical need for early intervention in prediabetes to mitigate these health risks.
