Prof. David G. Armstrong Delivers Message on Team and Serves as Panelist at Spain’s 54th National Congress of Podiatry

Meloneras, Canary Islands — October 2025

Dr. David G. Armstrong, Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Neurological Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC), participated as an invited international faculty member at the 54th National Congress of Podiatry held in Meloneras, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain.

Dr. Armstrong delivered a featured lecture titled “Why is the podiatrist irreplaceable in the multidisciplinary team? The importance of the Toe & Flow model,” emphasizing the integration of podiatric and vascular specialists in preventing limb loss and advancing multidisciplinary care. This was chaired by Prof. Jose Luis Lazaro Martinez and featured key participation from vascular surgeon Augustin Medina and podiatric surgeon Prof. Esther Garcia

In addition to his lecture, Prof Armstrong joined Alan Banks and Luke Cicchinelli as a panelist for “Resolution of Complex Cases in Diabetic Foot,” where participants explored innovative strategies for managing complex presentations of diabetic foot disease.

The event, hosted at the Expomeloneras Congress Palace, brought together leading clinicians, researchers, and educators from across Spain and Europe to discuss emerging science, technology, and team-based approaches in podiatric medicine.
