Podiatric Care: 64% reduction in amputation risk when added to team approach to amputation prevention


A study by Duke University’s Slone and coworkers now in press in the journal Health Services Research, reports on care over a six year period in an initial sample of more than 600,000 people with diabetes. This study suggests that podiatric care as part of a team, can reduce risk for amputation by up to 64%.
