Armstrong delivers convocation address at India’s National Diabetic Foot Conclave

David G. Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Director of the University of Arizona’s Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance Delivered the Summary Convocation Address to hundreds of graduates of the National Diabetic Foot Education Program in Chennai. “What is happening here in India is nothing short of a revolution” noted Armstrong, “An entire nation, thanks to the works of the leaders at this National Conclave– particularly Sharad Pendsey and Ashok Kumar Das– are literally creating a high risk limb specialty dedicated to amputation prevention.” Armstrong, who served as Chief Mentor for this program joined Prof. Andrew Boulton, President of the European Association of the Study of Diabetes and Dr. Kristien Van Acker, the Chair of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot as international visiting dignitaries along with leadership from the Indian College of Physicians, who presided over the Conclave and the ceremony.
