David G. Armstrong, Professor of Surgery with Tenure at the University of Southern California and a globally recognized leader in diabetic limb salvage and wound care, has achieved a historic milestone as the first to surpass 75,000 citations of his research work. This unprecedented accomplishment underscores his profound impact on the fields of podiatric surgery, diabetic limb preservation, and innovative healthcare solutions.

With a career dedicated to improving patient outcomes and preventing amputations, Dr. Armstrong’s contributions span over 680 peer-reviewed research papers and 110 books or book chapters. His work has been instrumental in advancing the understanding and treatment of diabetic foot complications, driving interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrating cutting-edge technology with clinical practice.

In addition to his prolific publication record, Dr. Armstrong co-founded the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) and leads USC’s NSF-funded Center to Stream Healthcare in Place (C2SHiP).
