ANTALYA, TURKEY – David G. Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Neurological Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC), has been selected to deliver the opening keynote address at the 19th National & 7th International Wound Congress. The event, held at the Titanic Mardan Palace from December 4–7, 2025, gathers global leaders to discuss the latest innovations in tissue repair and limb preservation.
The congress is hosted by the Wound Management Association of Turkey. Professor Dr. Hakan Uncu, President of the Association and Congress President, emphasized the importance of international collaboration in this year’s program.
“We are delighted to welcome Professor Armstrong and distinguished colleagues from around the globe to Antalya,” said Dr. Uncu. “This meeting represents a vital bridge for sharing knowledge. Having world-renowned experts share their insights on multidisciplinary care and digital health is essential for our mission to improve patient outcomes across the region.”
Dr. Armstrong, founder and co-Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA), opened the scientific program on Thursday evening with the keynote address, “The Power of Multidisciplinary Approach in Wound Management”.
“It is a distinct honor to be back in Turkey with my friend Professor Uncu and this incredible community of clinicians,” said Dr. Armstrong. “Whether we are talking about high-tech sensors or high-touch surgical teams, our goal is universally simple: we are here to keep the world walking. This congress is a testament to the fact that when we work together across specialties, we don’t just heal wounds—we save lives.”
In addition to the keynote, Dr. Armstrong is presenting two invited lectures focusing on surgical intervention and technological advancement:
- On Friday, December 5, he presents “Diabetic Foot Surgery to Prevent Amputations and Save Lives,” focusing on prophylactic surgical techniques.
- On Saturday, December 6, he addresses the future of care with “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health Applications in Wound Monitoring and Treatment,” exploring how AI is streaming healthcare directly to the patient.
Dr. Armstrong also serves as Session Chair for Session 8 on Saturday, December 6, moderating discussions on diagnostics, revascularization, and compression therapies alongside Prof. Uncu.
