- The current study is the first to compare the dietary intake of individuals with diabetes-related foot ulceration (DFU) to international nutrition consensus-derived guidelines for individuals with active DFU.
- The majority of participants did not meet the guideline recommendations, specifically for nutrients such as protein, fibre, zinc, vitamins E and A, which all impact wound healing capacity.
